 The meeting was called to order at 1:00 p.m. by Mary Losee. In attendance were Gary Flury, Sarah Abraham, Mary Losee, Betty Kooy, Mike Jacobson, Lori Benson, Jenn Kocsis, Mary Kocsis, Bruce Schomburg, Peggy Speer, Erin Holtmeyer, Paul Kemp, Jill and Morgan Hibbs, Kevin Conway, Mike McKamy, Gretchen Lindner, and Brian Jensen.

 Minutes of the September meeting were approved as corrected (Gary Flury was NOT in attendance at the September meeting.)

 The Treasurer – Mary Kocsis – reported the following balances as of November 1, 2004: Checking, $51,165.20; Savings, $14,953; AMEX $3112.77; FAM Fund $7123.84; Dain Rauscher$16,480.42. Motion was made to accept the treasurer’s report. Seconded. Passed.

 Committee Reports:

Championship meet committee: Bruce Schomburg:
There will be 2 sites for the DII meet in March with 2 sets of awards. Meet will be run as a P/F meet. Check with Hastings as a possible western site. Div I and Div II 8 & U and 9-10 will be afternoon sessions.

 Officers Reports:

Officials – Paul Kemp – deferred until January.

Registration – Gary Flury – deferred until January.

 Coach Representative – Lori Benson – requested information regarding coaches awards. Lori will take care of the awards from the previous year. The Allstar coach will receive a briefcase or warm-up. The Zone coach will receive $300 or a ring.

Motion was made to make coaches awards as follows: Senior Coach of the Year: $350 or watch of equal value; Age Group Coach of the Year: $300 and ASCA award nomination; Zone coach - $300 honorarium or ring; Allstar coach - $100 or briefcase or warm-up. Seconded. Approved.

Nomination Ballots for Zone coach will be sent out February 1, to be returned by February 15. Voting Ballots for Zone coach will be sent out March 1, to be returned by March 15.

Nomination Ballots for Allstar Coach will be sent out June 15 to be returned by July 1. (Ballot will also include nominations for Senior Coach of the Year and Age Group Coach of the Year). Voting Ballots will be mailed by July 15 to be returned by August 1.

 Athlete Representative – Erin Holtmeyer – brought up that the Zone athletes didn’t think they got enough ‘goodies’. More money is needed if MW is to provide more ‘goodies’. This will be brought up at the January meeting.

 Old Business:

Budget – Finance Chair - Mike Jacobson:

Budget was mailed to BOD. Mike would like a breakdown on a monthly basis.

Brian Jensen had recommendations for change in athlete reimbursement that would affect the budget. Proposed reimbursements: $1000 for Trials class meet; $600 for National Championship meet; $600 split four ways for National Championship qualifying Relay; $400 for Open and Junior meets; $100 for Sectional meets. Motion made to increase reimbursements as proposed. Seconded. Approved.

Motion to increase salaries/reimbursement of paid staff 5% over last year. Seconded. Approved.

Discussion regarding budgeting – it is a process which is handled on an income/expense basis.

Motion to accept budget as printed with the additional 5% to paid staff. Seconded. Approved.

 Mary will contact Patrick regarding Allstar bus and room arrangements.

 Betty will post the Redbook in PDF format on the MW Website by Thanksgiving.

 Next BOD meeting: Sunday, January 9, 2005, 1:30 p.m. Titan Hills Intermediate School, Council Bluffs, IA.

 Motion to adjourn at 2:00 p.m.
