Millie Knudson (14), representing Brownell Talbot Swimming under head coach Jimmy Parmenter, delivered a truly remarkable performance in the girls’ 100-yard Freestyle on Saturday, clocking a 49.76, breaking the LSC 13–14 Record in historic fashion.
With this swim, Millie becomes the youngest female swimmer in Nebraska or the Midwest Swimming LSC to ever break 50 seconds in the 100-yard Freestyle.
Her time currently ranks as the 2nd-fastest swim in the nation this season for the 13–14 age group and places her 44th on USA Swimming’s All-Time Top 100 list. Millie is currently ranked 3rd in the 13-14 50 Freestyle for the current season as well.
“I was ready to lay down a time,” said Knudson following the race.
Breaking 50 seconds in the girls’ 100-yard Freestyle is an extraordinary milestone at any age and accomplishing it at just 14 years old makes this swim truly special and one that will be remembered across our area.
Congratulations to Millie and her coaches on a performance that highlights the strength, depth, and future of swimming in Nebraska and Midwestern Swimming.
